Cloudifying the Plant: Two Sample Shop Floor Solutions

Monday, 4 November 2019 16:30 - 17:05

From the very beginning of Industrie 4.0, Internet of Things and Cloud have been accompanying every discussion, presentation or value proposition. Nevertheless, there are concerns among manufacturers - on the one hand, about latency, security and trust. On the other hand, about the maintainability of the additional functional components that enable the flexibility in integration, analytical insights up to AI-based assistance.
This talk addresses the question “How do Cloud and manufacturing fit together in practice?” and drills down into two concrete solutions delivered in a fully automated way for any plant or Cloud deployment by leveraging OpenShift as common denominator:

  • Plant Service Bus, enabling the universal flexible and trustful integration in the shop floor, including Cloud
  • Intelligent Automotive Manufacturing Assistant - designed in cooperation with two major Automotive OEMs to effectively face various production floor challenges. IAMA applies AI, AR, IoT and cognitive technologies to gain operational efficiencies, incl. higher workforce productivity, better OEE and lower cost per vehicle. Manufacturers will see fast ROI through empowering and upskilling workers on automotive production lines
